Creative Child Craft Ideas

Child craft ideas are great for sparking your child´s creative abilities. Craft can be defined as the "skill of doing or making something." Synonyms for craft include art, expertise, knack, know-how and technique. Such a definition allows for a wide variety of activities.

One of my favorite craft ideas to do with children is cooking. Besides being a healthy form of recreation and family time, my boys learn valuable lessons in the kitchen.

They learn the importance of planning ahead and following instructions. They learn how to cooperate with others towards a common goal. They learn how to face failures and frustrations when the outcome is not what they expected. They learn that, along with the fun of mixing, making and eating their creations, there is the reponsability of cleaning up afterwards.

Recently, I put together the Kid´s Fun Recipes. The recipes really are fun and extremely easy, as well. In fact, many of them don´t require cooking, only "building".

One of my favorites is the Octopus Dogs. It´s probably the easiest recipe in the book but we had a good laugh when we pulled the critters from the water.
